FREE Eyre's mandate is to "take control and  add value" and all that we do for our shareholders and the rural community is clearly focused on these two goals.
The Company was formed out of adversity. Having faced a series of heartbreaking droughts, declining terms of trade and the impending loss of ownership of a number of previous grower owned businesses, a group of Eyre Peninsula farmers and entrepreneurs banded together in an effort to make a difference. They wanted to create a diversified business that would be beneficial to the Eyre Peninsula and give something back to the local farmers, rural businesses and the community.
These visionary leaders, with their ideas of improving the sustainability and profitability of the region, are now seeing the reality of this dream.
With over 370 shareholders, FREE Eyre is a rural investment vehicle that investigates and co-invests in the development of new businesses and value adding rural enterprises. All investments must meet strict investment and profit criteria, reduce costs along the rural supply chain and ensure competitive tension for the farmer and agribusinesses community of the Eyre Peninsula.
